A reflexologist recently "diagnosed" that there could be something wrong with my sister's breast... a lump maybe. According to my sister, sometimes she could "feel" as if there's something not right with her breast too.
But she refused to get it checked up by a doctor. She had seen so many of her friends her age who had suffered immensely and eventually died from one cancer or another ... breast, colon, cervical etc etc...
"What for go check up? Eventually there is no escape and you eventually die anyway. And all the useless and painful treatment that you have to go through. Not to mention the hundreds of thousands of ringgit you have to spend. All for what? To buy extra few months to live?"
There was no way to argue or convince my sister. She always win in any argument. She's got a point though. The painful and super expensive treatment is just going to eat into your family savings and extend the time a little bit, but the pain and suffering will always be there. Buy more time to suffer and let the hospital get richer?
"If..... if let's say I have cancer, I'd rather claim all the money from my insurance and quickly use the money to travel the world," she added.

Facebook-ing Family
Strangely enough, I have managed to remain off-radar from members of my family in Facebook for over a year. But the time has come, today: I received a "friend" request from my 19-yo niece.
Not that there were too many revealing information in my facebook profile, but there are things that I'd like to keep private from family. And with all those privacy breaches that I have mentioned in my preceding post, you cannot be 100% certain that you have control over what items or photos can be seen. Plus you can't control what people write on your wall!
Photos tell a lot. About the kind of activities you do, the friends you hang out with, about how you behave (I admit I still very much behave immaturely), how daggy your clothes are, and eventually confirming your sexuality.
One can very easily deduce your sexuality by just looking at your "friends" list, your friends' photos, and your own photos! Not that they didn't already guessed it in the first place, but it's another thing to be letting family members confirming their suspicions, and seeing so much of your life. Suddenly I feel naked!
And if one family member adds you, you can be assured the others will follow!

Yellow Shirt Guy Part 2
So it's been 4 months since I first blogged about the yellow shirt guy. Yeah, I have not stopped obsessing over him in Facebook. I would visit his profile regularly to check out his status and oogle at his yummicious pics.
You see, I discovered that his profile was not public. Non-friends could not gain access to view his profile. In spite of the so-called privacy settings, there was a blunder in the privacy feature which allowed ME ... and ONLY ME, as a "non-friend" to view his profile in its entirety, including ALL his yummilicious pictures. Yes, I didn't have to add him as a friend to be able to view his profile. The only thing is that I could not leave a comment.
So when Facebook announced last week that new privacy measures would be implemented, I was worried that things would change and that my "free" access to the yellow shirt guy's profile could be affected. And I was right! Damn it! I was fuming mad, and cried that my regular addiction has been taken away from me.
But I did take some desperate measures to ensure that I am able to continue to enjoy the view of that beautiful piece of meat and that gorgeous smile on his face. Just a day (yes, a day... thank god!) before the new settings (and restrictions) came into effect, I managed to download quite a number of his fabulous pics. Slurrp!
Hmmm ... Perhaps I should just request to add him as a friend? Kan I am now older and bolder?

Dirty Old Man
As I turn 35 soon, it is almost like stepping into another (older) phase of life. I run out of breath more easily during my step class, the perpetual ache near my left shoulder blade, my feet hurts, I get more moles on my skin, stiff neck etc etc .... the list goes on. My body's falling apart!
But one thing I noticed is that I'm also getting more "active" and bold when it comes to "tackling" gorgeous guys.
I brushed my hands against the gorgeous butt of a cute waiter that I was talking to. I held on a handshake and rubbed my thumb on the back of the hand of an edible Type A1 contractor for a moment too long.
I used to be super passive and shy, a good thing perhaps, but probably now what you'd call a dirty old man.

Ultimate Madonna
Due to be released Sept 28 worldwide is Madonna's latest greatest hits compilation, a celebration of over 26 years of Madonna's music. Not sure if we can get it here in Malaysia on that exact date, but I will surely be visiting the stores on that day!
Recently, the track listings for the CD and DVD compilations were officially announced. See side bar for information.
Celebration CD - The 'Ultimate' Collection
The double CD package will feature 36 songs, including 2 new songs, from her 27-years career. It is interesting to note that song selections were heavily skewed towards the earlier part of her career. Of the 34 old songs, 20 were selected from the first 8 years (1983 - 1990) of her career. Songs post-1991, which covers 18 years, were severely under-represented. Only 6 songs from the 1991-2000 period, while 8 songs from the 2001-2008 period made it to the collection. It is not particularly surprising as most fans (and even non-fans) identify with her earlier songs more when she was at her peak back then in the 80s.

Apart from the two new songs, the remaining 34 songs have either previously been released in her studio albums or soundtracks or greatest hits compilations. It seems that all the old songs featured in the compilations were in versions that have been previously released before. It's a shame as they could have included some remixed versions, but I guess they wanted to preserve the original "flavour" or "essence" of her songs. So for those loyal fans like me who owned all of her previous albums, there's nothing really much to look forward to.
In my opinion, all songs are big Madonna hits worthy in the 'ultimate' compilation, with the exception of Miles Away which I think do not deserve to be there given that there were many better and more deserving "trademark" hits that were absent (Deeper and Deeper, This Used to Be My Playground, I'll Remember).

Whatever that the CD lacks, the DVD pretty much makes up for it. This video collection DVD appears to be a lot more comprehensive with 47 of Madonna's music videos, which includes 27 previously unreleased videos!! It appears that the videos will be arranged in chronological order.
I am certainly looking forward to the saucy, sinful and previously unreleased and previously banned (from being aired on MTV) videos like Justify My Love, Erotica and What It Feels Like For A Girl. I just hope they don't get banned in Malaysia, though... fingers crossed!!!
I'm also glad they've included the videos for True Blue, Live To Tell, Who's That Girl, Deeper and Deeper, I'll Remember, I Want You and You'll See. Now I don't have to go to You Tube to watch them!

And I certainly do not understand the rationale for excluding This Used To Be My Playground which was a #1 hit on the US Billboard Hot 100, and Top 10 in charts across the world.

Both the CD and DVD packages are indeed quite THE COMPREHENSIVE and ULTIMATE collection of Madonna's best. All the videos in the DVD will certainly showcase the artistic genius and evolution of pop's cultural icon. No one does it better than Madonna.
